Captain’s log, day eighteen of our first real retirement voyage. Although we aren’t totally retired. And except that I am not the captain.

Stayed a second night in Evans Bay. Quiet day, rained for most of it. Literally filled a three gallon bucket several times over the course of the day. So it really was raining buckets. I got two pairs of footwear soaking wet, two pairs of socks and two pairs of pants as well. They are currently hanging around the boat to dry.

Still, we went ashore three times, once around to another bay where we found our own little island once again.

Went for a half hour boat ride in our dinghy out of this bay to try to find cell service to connect with our son who is planning to come for another visit with his family. They are going to cram themselves in and stay with us for a night. They have a boat they can travel but not sleep in. It should be fun. We will leave here to meet up with them tomorrow.

We’ve been using a unique method to try to get cell service when we think we need it; hauling a phone up the signal halyard. Which is funny. Right?
