Captain’s Log, Day Thirteen

Captain’s log, day thirteen of our first real retirement voyage. Although we aren’t totally retired. And except that I am not the captain. And this is being published a day late because of the lack of connection to the world wild web.
Today we wended our way up through Lewis Channel and then into Sutil Channel. The scenery changed in that there was no sign of civilization. No cottages along the shore, nothing but trees and water, hilly terrain ending in mountainous areas some with snow. Beautiful.
We entered Von Donop Inlet which is surrounded by a marine park, now known by its Indigenous name, Ha’Thayim Marine Park. We meandered down to the end where we anchored.
We took the dogs ashore and had a short wander. There was a notice saying that wolves had been sighted in the park so we kept our little Rover closer than usual just in case.
The Captain has taken to eating scrambled eggs for breakfast. He’s been on the intermittent fasting diet, not on purpose or because he needs it but because he doesn’t like to eat in the morning. Normally he has a superpowered smoothie but we’ve run out of frozen fruit so he’s having to eat other things as his morning meal.
Our medical emergency today, although not really one is that our dog Kali seems to be having…
