Captain’s log, day twelve of our first real retirement voyage. Although we aren’t totally retired. And except that I am not the captain.

We stayed again today at Squirrel Cove. Had planned to move on but got a text from our son and daughter-in-law saying they might come up and have lunch with us. They were out fishing on their boat and it was a hop and a skip up to where we were. So that was a delightful surprise.

Even the dogs were very excited by their visit. Our dog Rover looked at their departing vessel with sadness. Maybe we are too boring to be with 24/7 for this long.

Anyway, the kids loved this spot and thought it was a delightful vacation. We made plans for them to come and meet up with us again.

We went for a hike ashore today, that was fun. Green, mossy forest, dark and cool and full of birds.
