Captain’s log, day twenty-four of our first real retirement voyage. Although we aren’t totally retired. And except that I am not the captain. And I am posting this several day later due to zero cell service.

We stayed at the Octopus Islands again today. We’ve taken over a small island for ourselves again. Took a picnic lunch there and stayed for the afternoon. No one else there and a small enough area that our dogs couldn’t get lost. Our smaller dog was in heaven, running through the salal and pretending he was an explorer.

We found a sunny spot after scrambling up a mossy wall from the shoreline. An easy climb, almost like steps.

We are having sunnier weather which is wonderful after so much rain. Not exactly warm like we would expect in June, but at least pleasant.

The scenery is so amazing and constantly changing. The tides, the weather, and the varying degrees of sunlight, cloud, and rain capture our attention constantly. We are…
