I lived in Côte d’Ivoire on the west coast of Africa when I was 18. I planned to go back I loved so many things about it. The memories cling to me. But would it have ever truly been my home? I don’t know. As for your ex I’m glad you got to end that journey but I’m sorry it was often such a painful one.
