I love the way you meandered through your thoughts on this. It's such a complex issue. I think the Crumbleys were crappy parents. But there are lots of other crappy parents whose kids don't shoot up their school mates. And I agree, finding someone to blame helps us to find a way to manage our feelings when these things happen. It helps us to feel like maybe it won't happen again if these crappy parents are punished and others learn from the consequences they face. But the gun problem will still exist. Only eight US states as far as I can gather require people to keep their guns locked up in a safe manner. More of them have laws that are there to prevent children/minors from having access to firearms but it seems these laws must be often disregarded since so many kids seem to get their hands on guns.
