It's a journey to make that shift to parenting adults. It's still happening for me and a couple of my younger ones. I have such a large age span in my kids (43 down to 22 with a bunch in-between) that it's a blend of dynamics and shifting relationships. In the end it's wonderful to have adult kids who are among your best friends which is the case with us.
