Thank you for this. So many do not see addiction as a disease but as a choice. I most certainly received significantly less support and empathy from others after my son died because of the way in which he did so. It was as if he had less value and this death was to be expected and therefore there was less empathy.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter losing her life to cancer. That is also a dreadful disease that takes far too many.
