There are no easy answers. While some communities have large populations of the unhoused it seems even small places have some too. I have been to the safe injection site where I live several times now: taking lunch, donuts, cookies, and at Christmas put together packages for 25 of the regular clients (the staff told me what to put in them). I think it's important to let them know that someone still cares even if everyone else in their life may have pushed them away out of fear or not knowing what to do.
