There are so many other factors as well. I have a car so I can drive to the farm market that has the cheapest produce prices, or a farm stand not too far from me where I can choose from stuff they just picked. I live on a boat, and last year had tubs on the dock beside me and could eat a salad and even potatoes from my own little gardens. The new marina owners have now told us we can't have anything like that on the docks so thats not an option anymore. Families without vehicles are stuck shopping at the grocery stores in town where the produce costs more and is less likely to be local. So many challenges in having any equity even in a country and place where there should be. I also grew up with my dad growing peas and beans and tomatoes in a backyard garden. Loved it.
